Working for Nannies Plus Us agency is great, if you are looking flexibility in work/life balance. You have to have at least 2 years of previous childcare experiece or childcare qualifications. I have been working as an emergency nanny with this agency since 2012. Kieran is very helpful and professional. All of the nannies must have their DBS & Pediatric first aid before commencing work at families. The agency covers the whole London area and mostly trying to match the family with a local temporary nanny. On ocassions, there are “last minute” ad hoc nanny help requests from families, but there are also block bookings for same family. I enjoy working with children from newborn age up to 16 years old. The work for NPU agency gives me a variety of experiences and interesting insights of life at different family backgrounds. It is very rewarding to see some of the families after a while and of course their children all grown up when requested by them after a while.
Every day is a new experience with new chalenges. Some families need help with their child/en who are not well, sometime the children are at home for school holidays, sometime parent is not well and needs support with a child/children…then the emergency nanny is needed to “save the day”. The NPU agency quickly matches the family with the right nanny for their needs.
Sometime there are “quiet” times when there is not enough work and it feels stressful as you would need to be having an extra emplyoment which covers living cost as the agency cannot promise to have a family booking each day. You are only paid for the time you work for! There is no “safety net”.
